Mental health and addiction are silent battles fought by millions across the UK, everybody has seen significant rises and now unfortunately know someone who has lost their life to suicide like myself, I lost my sister and my best friend in the space of a year, seeing how difficult it was for both of them to get the correct support through the NHS I knew something had to be done.

Too many people battle mental health and addictions alone because you cannot get mental health support if you have an addiction which puts you into a vicious cycle that’s almost impossible to get out of.

Despite growing awareness, access to proper help remains painfully out of reach for many. NHS mental health services are overwhelmed, with wait times stretching from months to over a year—an impossible timeline for someone in crisis.

Addiction services have been gutted by years of funding cuts, leaving people without the support they need to break the cycle.

For those struggling, asking for help can already feel like a mountain; finding that help shouldn’t be another one.

No one should have to fight for their life in a system that can’t catch them when they fall. It’s time we changed that.
